MineralWood Finish is Durable and Beautiful
MineralWood™ counter and island tops are constructed to very high standards. They are durable and skillfully built. Our tabletops are intended to provide quality service to your family for generations, and our counter and island tops will serve you just as well. Once installed by a qualified installer, MineralWood™ countertops are simple to maintain. The final stage in the finishing process is to apply four to five coats of WaterLox Original® over our MineralWood™ finish. WaterLox dries to a very durable, highly water resistant finish, and will withstand normal kitchen use. WaterLox has been used safely in kitchen environments for over 85 years. A wet cloth will not hurt the finish. Standing water for short periods will not hurt the finish. We do not recommend leaving standing water or wet cloths on the surface for hours at a time, although even this typically does no harm. If the finish dulls or gets lightly scratched it can be renewed at any time with WaterLox Original® according to manufacturer's instructions.
Due to the artistic nature of our counter and island tops we do not recommend using them as butcher blocks. We recommend the use of cutting boards for chopping and trivets to prevent burn marks.
