Artist or Artisan?
Some people call me an artist. I am not an artist—at least not in the modern or post-modern sense. With my work I am not trying to make anyone learn or figure out anything about me. It is more desirable to make the work pleasing to you, lovely to your senses, to fill your needs, whether those needs are pragmatic or more in the way of pleasing the soul. My creations should bring delight to your eyes and hands.
I am an artisan working in design, wood, colors, and specialty finishes. My solid wood dining room oak, cherry, and walnut furniture is designed to delight your senses. There is not much ethereal or metaphysical about my processes. As an artisan making simple, yet elegant furniture, I pray that my work will accomplish those ends.
