Cherry Wood Dining Table
I am a designer and maker of handmade, solid hardwood, artistic furniture and custom table tops. There are no veneers, plywood, or particleboard used in any of it. I also rework antiques with my best artistic over-graining, subdued artwork, and some of the most lovely reproduction hardware on the market. I named the furniture lines after the mountains in which we live because Virginia is where we have made our home and it is where I hope to craft quality furniture for many years to come.
I started working as a carpenter over 30 years ago. My first furniture included a cradle for our first child, and a roll-top desk my wife still uses. For me the decision was simple. I loved making things of wood so I just did that. A lot of years have marched on by but I still love making things out of wood.
Back in those early years I started developing artistic finishes that I now call my MineralWood™ finish. This finish is really much more than a finish. The look starts with carefully planned, meticulously selected boards with the hues and shadows of color that are so appealing. Finally, the natural color and grain are enhanced to create a unique look, boldness, and desirable detail.
The reaction from people when first seeing my wood table tops is invariably “Where did you get such beautiful wood?” And “What kind of wood is that?” They always ask if they can touch the dark walnut table tops, the cherry dining furniture, or the traditional style large oak table. People want to smooth their hands across the surfaces. It looks like something that must be felt, like an antique quilt or a baby’s fresh skin.
The furniture is new but appears just a little antiquey. I use machines but you can still tell it did not come off an assembly line. It is not “perfect” in a manufactured sense but this dining room furniture, tables, chairs, and accent pieces, is well designed and masterfully built.
I am striving to assemble graceful furniture that will glorify my Creator and be an heirloom for your family. These are investment grade home furnishings. Furniture of this quality will be inherited by your grandchildren, whether you buy my new furniture items or one of my reworked, antiques, they will treasure their simple beauty and the memories of time spent with family through the years of use.
Many of these photos were taken by a professional products photographer. He did a great job. However, the real depth of the color and graining and the presence of these pieces has to be seen and felt in person to be fully understood. When you open the crate and lift these wooden gems into daylight, you will be more than pleased. I guarantee.
