Reworking Antiques

In addition to producing our original furniture designs and custom ordered work, we also rework antiques items. We scour antique shops in search of pieces that have great lines and unique character. These are one-of-a-kind pieces and you will find our currently available pieces as well as some of our past work when you click on the tabs above.
These antiques are typically from the 1880s to around the 1940s era. They are solid wood with traditional joinery—mortise and tennon, or joints that are slotted then glued and nailed, and legs made of a single piece of hardwood instead of modern glued-up stock. We carefully check each piece over for any needed repairs. Loose joints are re-glued and drawers repaired to work properly. Any structural repairs are made to match the original materials and joinery for high quality refinished furniture.
When we are confident that the piece is sound and in excellent condition we give it a transforming face-lift with our MineralWood™ finish. Colors are selected based on the hues and graining found in each piece. And the final touch on some of our pieces is to replace worn or mismatched hardware with quality reproduction hardware. We have discovered some lovely depression glass drawer pulls and decorative hinges, and we enjoy using these artistic gems in our projects.
The final result is quality antique pieces with charm and uniqueness that is difficult to find anywhere.
